High Five #2 - Supporting our local physicians.

We believe the hospital’s medical staff is the cornerstone of the healthcare delivery system in every community. Maintaining open, positive, and productive relationships with medical staff leadership and with every physician is a top priority for the LifePoint executive team. Here’s but one example. When LifePoint enters a new partnership with a hospital, we honor all current medical staff privileges.

Physician involvement is encouraged and welcomed. Indeed, physicians are represented on all hospital Boards of Trustees. A Physician Leadership Council provides outside peer reviews (when needed), assistance with quality improvement and an informative forum to share best practices and ideas. We believe local physician input is a keystone to medical staff development. Their on-the-ground expertise helps us assess the need for physician recruitment and develop an effective strategy as we recruit new physicians. Physician Survey Input gives us important feedback on how physicians rate their relationship with our hospitals, providing invaluable information that helps us make wise investments in technology services, training, staff and facilities. LifePoint also brings to the table the resources required to recruit and retain new physicians and to expand services in our communities.
