Welcome to the Bluegrass Region of Kentucky, home of champion
thoroughbreds and world-famous country ham. Amid the rolling hills and
green pastures of central Kentucky, the city of Lebanon in Marion
County offers all the benefits of gracious living in a most tranquil

The Hospital
Established in 1944, Spring View Hospital is a 75-bed acute care
facility that offers a full range of specialties and services,
including Emergency Services, Cardiopulmonary Services, Laboratory
Service, Diagnostic Imaging Services, Rehabilitation Services, Women's
Center Services and Occupational Health Services. More than 30,000
procedures are performed at the hospital annually, and over 450 babies
are born each year at the Spring View Women's Center, which features
enhanced labor, delivery and recovery rooms. A Level III Trauma Center
serves Marion County as well as the surrounding regions, and a 10-bed
Emergency Room is staffed by trauma-certified nurses and physicians
24/7. Imaging Services include Mammography, Ultrasound, CT Scan,
Nuclear Medicine, MRI and Echocardiography. The hospital also provides
Occupational Health Services, which include pre- and post-employment
screenings, drug screenings, pulmonary function, hearing tests and
other services.
The Community
Lebanon is the county seat for Marion County, and located equidistant
from Louisville, Frankfort and Lexington. In recent years, Lebanon has
established itself as a center of trade, commerce, and industry in
central Kentucky. The Downtown Lebanon Historic District, listed on the
National Historic Register, features antique shops and an arts & crafts
cooperative featuring the works of local and other Kentucky artisans.
Marion County Country Ham Days ranks as one of the most successful and
largest community festivals in Kentucky. Over 6,000 pounds of hams are
served to 50,000 visitors during the festival, which
is held during the last full weekend in September. Ham Days features
the PIGasus Parade, Street Dance, contests, live entertainment,
carnival rides, climbing wall, Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show, Arts and
Crafts and Flea Market, 5K Pokey Pig Run, and much more. Hoofprints of
the Stars, a Civil War drama, recreates the famous raids of General
John Morgan. The Maker's Mark Distillery is located in nearby Loretto,
and Centre College in Danville is nationally recognized for its
academic achievement.
Recreation
Kentucky's Bluegrass Region is famous for its natural beauty, and
Marion County is no exception. Among the recreational opportunities
available is the Fagan Branch Reservoir. It features the 3.2-mile Cecil
L. Gorely Naturalist Walking Trail, a great environment for hiking,
bird watching, nature studies and fishing. The 34-acre Graham Memorial
has outdoor tennis courts, fitness trail, picnic pavilion, gazebo,
playground and an aquatic center offering year- round activities.
Nearby historic Bardstown is one of Kentucky's oldest communities, and
the village of Mount Pleasant is home to a restored Shaker Community
and Living Museum. The Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge is a 500-acre
preserve and sanctuary for plants and animals native to central
Kentucky.
